đźš« Verbal Permission is No Longer Allowed
In previous years, families could give school nurses verbal permission over the phone to administer basic over-the-counter (OTC) medications like Tylenol, Motrin, or Neosporin. That is no longer allowed.
To ensure your student can receive OTC medications from the school nurse this year, parents/guardians must complete the annual update and consent in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. This consent allows the nurse to treat your child when needed during the school day.

đź’Š New Guidelines for Prescription Medications
There are also important changes to how prescription medications are handled in our schools:
- We cannot accept or administer prescription medications until a completed Medication Administration Form is on file.
- This form must be signed by both the parent/guardian and the student’s physician.
- There is no longer a 5-day grace period. All paperwork must be submitted before your student brings any medication to school.
🏥 Action Plans & Emergency Medications
If your student has a medical condition requiring an action plan, such as:
- Seizures
- Allergies or Anaphylaxis
- G-Tube Feedings
- Other health conditions requiring physician instructions
These forms (Medication Administration Consent or Action Plan) must be signed by both the parent and doctor and submitted at the same time that you turn in any medication to any school nurse’s office. Without it, the medication cannot and will not be given to your student.
All necessary forms can be found here:
